Sorry for missing out on yesterday’s post, I developed a migraine and ended up heading to bed early and resting as much as I could.
But anyway…
Gaming is one of my froms of relaxation, Saying that I do often play games that can be stressful like Call of Duty but its one of the ways I switch off in the evenings or during my days off once I have done all my housework and jobs I need to get done.
What I am playing
At the moment I have been obsessed with Stardew Valley, I started playing it on the switch but then I got a steam deck and wanted to mess about with mods so I started up a new save on there and been playing ever since, the premise of the game is that you get given a farm by your sick grandfather and you have to grow crops, sell things, meet people and go on adventures which was launched in 2016 and is continuing to be updated ten years later. Concerned Ape who is the developer has shared many things online about up coming updates which change aspects of the game, new marriage prospects and hopefully lots more!

Currently I am the farmer of Marbles Farm, I am married to Harvey and we have a daughter, one ginger cat called Cooper and a dog which I modded to look like a Pomeranian and she’s called Penny, the farm is currently on summer year 4 and I am working towards getting Ginger Island all up and running and just enjoying the farming aspect of it all and as I said I switched to from Nintendo to Steamdeck because I just wanted to try out mods.
This is going back to the days when I loved downloading The Sims 2 mods and even adding mods to Skyrim, I try and steer clear of any cheating mods but a lot of the ones I have are just added to make my game look and feel prettier, I have a lot that just change colors and styles of things as well as different layouts and shaders to create a lovely fairy like dream world for me to farm in.

It is considered a relaxing game however it does have its moments where the grind is real, there is a lot too it besides just simple farming and as I delve deeper into the games story I am finding new things I hadn’t seen before and I am trying my hardest to go slowly with any end of game aspects, I’m going to be decorating up my farm soon to make it look pretty and move things about.
I guess this is why I liked build mode on the sims as I just liked creating and building things, it’s why my animal crossing island (also called marbles!!) was so overly decorated ha.
Stardew Valley makes me feel happy and calm when I play, and I’ve also found a little group online of people who play it too who we’ve all gotten close, most live in America so it’s funny with the time zones but still great to talk too every now and then.
What games are you playing lately?
