We all have our own traditions that we treasure and hold onto throughout the years, and I am no different, there are a few traditions that I keep year in year out and then there are others that I’m okay to let slip bye if we can’t manage to do them.
My Yearly Traditions
Now I have two that I continue to go back to year after year and one of them is visiting a pumpkin patch, we used to attend Cammas Hall yearly for pumpkins but recently discovered Hatters Farm and has made visiting there every year to pick our pumpkins for our front porch decorations, I have talked about Hatters Farm before and will be visiting again soon to have a fun afternoon out with my mum and children and this year will have Penny along for the fun too as Hatters welcome dogs to their patch!

And our annual slow mo leaf throw, this is something I haven’t shared publicly as I do try and keep my children private online, every year since my children were tiny we would grab a arm full of fallen leaves from a nearby tree and hurl them into the air and film in slow mo, it’s not an October thing as there aren’t many leaves on the floor in October so it normally occurs in November but it’s always been a thing that we’ve loved doing and the kids love seeing their reactions in a slow mo video. Occasionally I’ll add some music too it to make it appear magical and I share it with family and on my private Instagram that I have family added
We obviously have some traditions that we don’t always do, for example the girls love collecting conkers, those delightful chestnut brown nuts that fall from the horse chestnut tree every year, often we end up with bags and bags of them but we’ve not done it this year, and of course Halloween itself, this year I don’t have my children for Halloween so won’t be going out trick or treating with them but I do decorate the house up and if I am home I will hand out sweets to any children that might knock on my door.
I do look forward to when I can do Halloween with my children again which won’t be a for a while but I don’t mind, they like me decorating the house and I love handing out sweeties to the witches and ghosts that appear at my door ha!
However last year Neil and I had an adult Halloween and actually went out to the pub to watch our favorite band play which is always good fun.
What traditions do you keep year in year out or are you like me where depending on life you do some and miss out on others.
