I adore a rainy day, people always say it ruins the day but I feel that it makes things so much more cozier and after the horrible multiple heatwaves England has suffered throughout summer seeing the grass and plants growing greener and the ponds filling back up again just feels wonderful
One rainy day
Waking up and hearing the rain patter on the windows and the wind blow through the trees is such a wonderful feeling, knowing also that you have no plans that day so you can stay inside and get cosy under blankets is an even better feeling! I don’t have very many of those stay in days anymore but when I do I cherish them.
But I am not one who also dislikes a day outside in the rain, going to places that you wouldn’t like going too when it’s rainy, a walk in the woods or even going to the beach in the rain adds such a whimsy vibe to the day, no one is going to be there besides the occasional dog walker and I always take my camera with me in case the mood inspires me. Finding somewhere to get a nice warm drink and something to eat is always fun as well, sitting and watching the rain go by. Perfect!

But my favorite way to spend a rainy day is always snuggled up inside, hot chocolates on tap, under the blankets with the windows slightly cracked open so that fresh rains smell can filter inside either playing a game or watching a show with the candles and fairy lights twinkling away.
My youngest is also an avid fan of a cosy rainy day in, getting our hoodies and oodies on with our slippers and choosing soup for our warming lunch and watching the rain out of the garden door.
I think with the winter closing in and nights getting longer everything is just so much more relaxing and cosy and the random spells of rainy weather continue to bring joy to me.
A rainy day can never be a bad day in my eyes!
