I have had a long and hard think to come up with this answer and the only thing that comes up time and time again has to be my garden and veg patch, it is the one thing that has made my life easier of the past few months with the harvest ive had and used, the money i have saved not needing to buy certain bits of salad and has genuinely been a massive joy to me.
Its actually been both hard and easy at the same time, gardening is hard work however can be so rewarding at the end of it all, I started it all back in May when I first got my tomato plants from the garden centre and I have added more and more as the growing season went on and of course as the year went on we picked cucumbers and tomatoes to eat, had our first harvest of potatoes that were very yummy and harvest our one and only pumpkin.

The weather wasnt really on our side however, I think my part of the UK didnt have any rain for over two months during the summer and then we suffered a hosepipe ban which make things worse, the muscles I must have gained by lugging watering cans of water all over my garden to feed my plants ha. But despite that I did exactly what I had originally planned to do by saving a little bit of money at the end of it.
In fact we had a dinner that had lettice and a red pepper the other night and I have some more potatoes to add to another meal next week and by the looks of it, some carrots as well to add to another meal.
I am not a green fingered person, I cannot do flowers or pretty gardens but it turns out that I have taken to veg growing like there is no tomorrow, I have enjoyed making my life easier by growing my own food and saving a little bit of money every week and I am already prepping and planning with next season and have just put in my elephant garlic bulbs which is very exciting! I spend so much money on garlic so I thought it would be a fun idea to grow my own.
I love doing a little harvest in the garden when things are ready to pick, I got a few chilli plants from The South Devon Chilli Farm which I have picked and frozen for future use as my friend wants to make some chilli jam out of the spiciest one and Neil has cooked and eaten the much cooler ones and I just enjoy growing them.
Who knew that I would find gardening a thing to make my life easier, I have even applied for an allotment in my local town but the waiting list is so long, fingers crossed haha!
