I am a little bit of a magpie, I love all things sparkly and pretty and I often waste my time browsing around Instagram and Esty at all the pretty things that people make and sell. One of the things that draw me into pieces of jewellery has to be unique styles and this is something that the jewellery by Ethnasia has to offer.
Ethnasia was started by Fani Ntinoudi in the summer of 2012 after spending some time on the greek island of Samothraki and discovering a craftsman making braded macramé jewellery and was inspired to not only learn to make them herself but to share her craft with the world. Ethnasia is the combination of the words Ethnic and Fantasia and what started as something small has taken over the globe with many people enjoy their amazing jewellery.
One of the things that I personally love about the Jewellery by Ethnasia is possibly that the price is in the perfect range, so you are able to find something stunning and unique at an affordable price range. Most of the metal jewellery is a stainless steel that is plated with gold or silver but a lot of the jewellery is silver or brass based however anything else thats made with a thread is a wax thread for durability and the stones are all real and sourced personally by Fani herself which she often showcases her adventures over on her Instagram where I originally found her.
Along with the items that you can just buy that shes made, Fani also offers a line of personalised items which using engraving machine you can added your own personal touch or give as a gift for Christmas and birthdays along with more limited edition pieces which are slightly more pricey but purely due to the amount of work that is put behind them. Once again Fani often shares when she sits down and creates these limited edition jewellery pieces and its truly interesting watching her make and create and shares how the process works.
Many of the pieces can be used for a single statement necklace however they are all designed to look amazing stacked together and with mixed media too, While I am more of a silver jewellery fan I do think that having a mix of material and colours with jewellery always looks amazing and along with these big stand out jewellery pieces she also designed and sells simple chains that can make any outfit look classy and stylish.
I only really got necklaces this time, the last few times I got a little collection of bangles and bracelets but I want to get some rings the next time I make an order as lots of their rings are sizeable and because I have fat fingers that is always bonus for me as not a lot of indie brands I find on instagram and etsy are size inclusive.
One other thing that I really love is simply the packaging, with every single package I have recieved from Ethnasia its always so beautifully packaged along with some stickers for you to use. My daughter Amelia decided she was going to take them for herself and I haven’t seen them since but its just a nice little touch added and often if you purchase a certain amount you can get a free gift which is lovely too.
All in all I adore this jewellery brand and im glad I discovered Fani and her designs and its safe to say I will be adding more of her stunning pieces into my collection in the near future.
