Its officially spooky season and what better way to celebrate the start of what I consider the best time of year than to share with you some of the best places I use to find good Halloween decorations.
Now I have shared with you about how to prepare for the autumn and winter months but finding the best decorations for Halloween needed a while post in itself.
What makes a good Halloween decoration I hear you ask, usually for me its something that can be used again and again throughout the years, something that can add a little charm to your home and of course something scary and effective. Over the years I have curated a large box full of decorations that come out during the spooky season, and a few of them I use throughout the year as well.
The main stores that I turn to, to source and buy some of my decorations haven’t really changed, I have actually remained very loyal to The Range when it comes to finding some perfect premade party decorations as well as make your own decorations to add a more personal touch to everything but I have started to branch out to the other discount retail stores such as B & M and Home Bargains, and back in the day I got plenty of fun decorations at Wilkinson’s when it was open, I in fact still have some of them that have yet to break hah. However one of the biggest and best places I have found that have a wonderful collection of decorations for all seasons of the year has to be Home Sense.
My small collection of autumnal candles come from Home Sense, as well as my many blankets and throws that I have scattered round my home, I cannot express to you just how much I enjoy a good dig through Home Sense for the perfect home décor. I even indulge in my mug obsession in that store too, despite my lack of space in the cupboards.

This year however I do not have my children on Halloween itself but I am not going to let that upset me and I am going to decorate my house up for other children who might come knocking, B and M had some lovely items for outside decoration this year, I got some pumpkin lanterns, some bat decorations and cute little pumpkin fairy lights, From The Range I got some battery operated candles, which I got a set a few years back but wished I had got more as I use them throughout the year dotted around the house.
But I have also used Amazon, I have done for a few years now as its sometimes a lot cheaper than in the stores as well as more variety available, from amazon I got some more outside decorations, spooky light up ghosts and some hanging bats as well as more fairy lights because you cannot have enough fairy lights in the house.

While these additions might seem small compared to what others buy each year for their décor, I find that its always important and sustainable to get items that can last and last throughout the years, many of them only require battery changes or detangling and in the time of plastic waste and so much over consumption that is everywhere on social media these days finding things that are your personal style is always a must.
Everything that I buy for my home throughout the seasons I reuse, I even have some paper lantern pumpkins that I got 10 years ago that get used time and again but sometimes adding more to create a spookier front garden for the trick or treaters that you can then reuse next year is important to me too.
Where do you find your Halloween decorations from?
