Once in a while Neil and I visit the local pub to watch a band play music, sometimes they have some really good bands but then on an odd occasion they have a band that simply stands out more than the rest.
The Revivals are fun and energetic local band that have become a huge favourite of ours. They have collectively been playing for over 20 years, the sing various different eras of music and are simply just entertaining, Revivals consist of Steve (lead vocals) Matt (guitar and founding member) Lee (The spurs fanatic drummer) Duncan (Keyboard) and Mark (Bass) who have been playing together for 12 years all over the south east of England and we saw them by chance at as I said The Herald our local pub one very warm summers evening.
They play all sorts of music from the decades so there is always something to get you up and dance along and what I’ve noticed is that they seem to start with 60’s music first with some Beatles and flow seamlessly into the 80’s with indie and rock throw in, personal favourite songs that they play are probably Bryan Adams and Elton John and they do a blues brothers bit in the middle of the act which is always fun to join in with.
I think one of the reasons why its a great band is the fact that they interact with the audience, they recognise their regulars and just put on such an amazing show for the size of the venue, I aim to go watch them in a bigger venue just to see what else they can do and reading on their website if you would hire them for private events and given enough time they can and will learn and perform song requests however they do follow set play lists.
And they were very for me to get a little snap happy with the camera when we was there, I have taken photos of the band previously but in my quest to get better at taking photos my camera came with us again.
Live music for me is such an important thing for me, I find that when music is played live you as an audience get to connect to the band and in essence the music itself as well, a song played live can change how you few it and bring it to life and I always recommend seeing live bands which is why The Herald is often my stop to go for music these days and The Revivals are no different, they have all their up coming up on their tour dates page so if you see that theyre playing nearby..
Go watch and dance the night away!
