We Love Lego!
So much so that when I saw there was an event in my that was about Lego AND it was on a day I had my children I booked tickets up. Brick Festival is what it says on the tin, its a travelling event that celebrates all things to do with Lego, with each event being a little different from the others and showing off builds and kits that you can buy that you don’t often find inside the stores.

Getting the tickets were pretty simple, I found the event on Facebook and followed the links to the website, deciding to get early bird tickets after finding the experience of going to comic con on priority/early tickets much less stress inducing, being able to walk around the floor before the general public come in is always a plus.

BrickFest goes hand in hand with the Roald Dahl Nurses charity, at the event you can try your luck at the tombola and all the money that goes into it goes towards the charity and then you can get to pick a mini figure, the girls had fun trying to find their favourite mini figures.
The girls and I got in the queue pretty earlier, Kai however wanted nothing to do with it as being 15, Lego simply isn’t cool and he went to the gym for the time we was there, we got our hands stamped, handed our free Lego and waited for the doors to open for us to get inside, Once we walked in the girls decided exactly where they wanted to go, there was this big section in the middle of the hall with tubs full of lego that they could just sit and build whatever they want. Amelia made a love heart.
We then decided to go and do a little walk around at all the stalls, there was plenty to see and buy, lots of prebuild Lego as well that people had made to put on display, which I think I love more than the Lego itself as so much work goes into it, There was also some planned events that you could sign up for and some retro consoles with some classic games that Robin jumped at the change to play, Her being very surprised at the old xbox 360 slim (I still have mine in a drawer somewhere) and then finally the money came out.
Amelia treated herself to some mini figures and Lego cards, however there wasn’t much that she wanted to buy there seeing that she’s very into Pokémon at the moment, Robin however found a cat Lego set, some keyrings for her bag as well as a teeny tiny cat which I am not sure what we are going to do with.
It was a pretty fun event to go along too but I feel like due to the small room in which it was being held there could’ve been so much more and I am going to assume ones that are held in larger areas are a little bit more engaging, we pretty much saw everything we need and spent our money that we wanted within the hour before the other ticket holders and the ones who paid at the door.
I was also sent on a mission to find a certain Jaws Lego for the avid Lego and sharks fan but sadly I couldn’t find it, thankfully however Brickfestival is coming back to Harlow in the autumn so there still is a chance.
