Over the weekend myself and Neil along with his parents visited Cambridge for a big group birthday celebration as we wasn’t able to visit for his mums and his dad and I have a birthday 4 days apart from one another, I am going to write up a little post about our meal out but I wanted to share with you a fun little idea I developed
Mum handed me this camera, its a Casio Exilim 3.2 megapixel digital camera from the early 2000’s, it still worked and given the fact that mum even still had the charger for it and a memory card inside I thought why not, would be a little bit of a laugh to carry around on perhaps a night out to the pub.

But then came the idea to take it to Cambridge, I believe this camera has previously visited Cambridge 22 years prior, I charged it up and packed it ready for the trip and the weird looks you get with it are pretty funny, and I thought walking around with my big DLSR was a head turner but I guess no one expects a fossil in photography to come out of the wood work.
I didn’t have much hope with what it would take, and expected that it would either be extremely pixelated and in need of a touch up in light room but I was honestly surprised, they aren’t the best photos taken but at the same time, considering the cameras age and the amount of mega pixels I was working with… it wasn’t bad…
I do think that it will come with me for future trips, I can’t deny the charm of the style of images, it’s got a feel to them that you can tell it was not set in 2025 and it’s giving camera phone quality but I like it and I’m looking forward to experimenting with it for future silly projects to come.
Cambridge, 2002 style
