Hello again, Another month gone and I didnt post anything, frankly November was a bit of a rubbish month and I spent the majority of it sick, right at the end of the month after roughly 3 weeks of cold like symptons I go flu and died on my sofa for a full week.
But it did get me thinking of all the things I am excited for in the winter months, We have lots of things planned coming up and I am hoping that both my body and the weather play ball and we get to enjoy the joys that come with this time of year and not have anything spoil our winter plans.

My Winter Plans.
- Light trails – for the past few years I have taken my children to a light trail, for the past couple of years we have visited Hyland Estates ‘Enlightend‘ trail, We have gone to Hylands many times throughout the years with summer wanders and easter events and being able to wander around the estate during the dark with beautiful lights flickering is magical. I will of course share with you what we see in a later post.
- Decorating the house – Now this was done the weekend just gone, fairy lights are my go too comfort for winter plans so decorating the house full of pretty sparkly lights has me in my happy place, each year I ask the children, well Amelia what lights shall we do on the tree, this year it was multicolours, I put the tree up at the weekend with the lights on and the children decorated it for me when they came home from school
- Baking tasty treats – I try and bake lots of things this time of year, Amelia loves my blueberry muffins and everyone likes my cakes when I bake them, the plan is to get some tray bake cakes cooked so my children can enjoy some sweet treats when they come home from school.
- Panto time! – we didnt get to go last year but my mum and I booked up the panto this year in Bishops stortford, this year is Snow White and im excited to go along and join in, despite my childrens protests as I am ’embarrsing’ according to Amelia hah! Oh no its not!
- School christmas plays – I only have one left in primary now so I get to still enjoy the fun of christmas plays, although gone are days of the nativity, we get carol concerts now but I am always excited to go and watch my children perform.. even if it does make me a little weepy
- Finally feeling comfortable in my own skin – I cannot stand the summer heat, the winter makes me happy that I can layer up, get out the hot water bottles and just feel cosy.
- Eating roasties!! – The past 5 months I have been calorie counting, I have managed to loose 2 stone over the course of it but I am having 3 full cheat days during the festive period, christmas eve, christmas day and boxing day are all off plan, I dont usually eat that much over the three days anyway but I am going to go full out on the old roasties as theyre my fave from of potato. I cant wait!
- Frosty morning photoraphy opportunities – I want to once again get up early one morning and take photos of the frost and fog, weve had a few frosty days but it happens on the days when I am not able to go out, so i am waiting patiently for the day I can just get out with the camera, go for a long walk and snap away.

Sadly like everything at this time of year it just goes by so fast and we are stuck back in January but I am going to attempt to make the most of December after November turned out to be a bit of a buzz kill!
What are your winter plans for this season?
