Once in a while I go for little trips to the county of Lincolnshire and on the odd occasion we visit around the local area and further afield, This was over the first bank holiday weekend of may and going off on what the weather that was predicted Neil and I decided to take caution to the wind and go visit the coast.
We spent some money at the arcades and visited the local Sealife centre but wanted to go somewhere for lunch as our stomachs started to rumble we decided to visit Norfolk Lavender and enjoy all their homemade food.
Now the last time I visited Norfolk Lavender I was suffering the aftermath of covid, from November 2021 to March 2022 I had no taste or smell, so I couldn’t unfortunately enjoy the delicious tastes and smells that the lavender could offer, But this time I could smell everything!

The Lavender Lounge Cafe is where we went too, inside its an airy and beautiful barn like structure just to the side of a farm shop and the gift shop. Considering there was a lot of people sat outside enjoying the sunshine there was still plenty of spaces inside.
The menu itself had the typical food that one would find at any cafe and alot of the items were handmade. Having decided to go for some light bites I picked the jacket potato with tuna and Neil had a Ploughman’s, both of which tasted delicious. My jacket potato was perfectly cooked but I had to add a little bit more mayonnaise into my tuna, I didn’t eat any of the salad as they used a honey dressing but the coleslaw was amazing.
Neil’s ploughman’s looked lovely, the only complaint I think he had was it was lacking in any Branson pickle but the little pickled veg made up for it, who knew that pickled carrot would taste amazing and the bread stick was warm.
For cake, Neil wanted to try the lavender cake, however by the time we had finished our lunch the cake had been sold out so he went for a mint chocolate cake and I of course went for the classic Victoria Sponge which didn’t disappoint!

After we had our little meal and seeing that it was such a beautiful day I dragged Neil around the grounds and explore the area, We unfortunately went when the lavender wasn’t in bloom yet so sadly I do not have any stunning shots of the purple flowers but it still was pretty stunning to walk around and enjoy.
Once we had done a small stroll around the pretty flowers and scenic area and of course taking a few selfies on the way we walked over to the farm shop to have a look at what else they provide, what we found was a butcher, cheese counter and many local products including honey made from a local bee keeper which is always a must for me when it comes to farm shops.

We had such a lovely time at Norfolk Lavender and seriously need to visit when the flowers are out and everywhere is covered in honey bees and I am glad that despite the threat of the weather turning sour later in the day, it stayed sunny and warm.
I highly recommend that if you are in the local area to go and visit this lovely little farm and enjoy the beautiful sights and don’t forget to pick up some lavender goodies from the shop too!

I love visiting places like this, and when I finally move back home to the UK, I will be brunching and lunching like this again. It sounds like a really nice place to enjoy some time at (the cakes looks great)!
